Introduction to UCAS

What does the session cover?

The programme provides an easily digested overview of the application process and the parallel routes followed by the HEI and the applicant. The day also provides an opportunity for delegates to meet key UCAS staff.

The following topics are covered:

  • Overview of UCAS
  • Applicant and HEI UCAS journey
  • Fraud and verification - UCAS' role and advice to HEIs
  • Considering the application and making offers
  • Confirmation, Clearing and Adjustment
  • Benefits and responsibilities of UCAS membership
  • The role of the UCAS Correspondent
  • Tour of UCAS.

Who should attend?

The day has been designed with new members of staff in mind. It assumes no prior knowledge of UCAS processes, key dates or procedures.

Characterised by a lively and stimulating style of delivery, delegates will also benefit from the opportunity, not available to the general public, to see behind the scenes of our busy Cheltenham headquarters.

As these days are always popular, we ask that institutions send no more than two delegates per session.
