The UCAS Board commissioned a review of the admissions process which represents the first comprehensive review of an admissions process which has served the Higher Education sector and applicants well for 50 years since the inception of UCCA in 1961.
The key findings and conclusions are presented in a consultation paper which we published on 31 October 2011. This includes proposals for reform, timeline and the questions that we consulted on.

Some of the proposals would introduce significant changes but we would like to make it clear that the consultation does not propose any immediate changes and current applicants will not be affected in any way. The earliest proposed date for any significant change to the process would be for applicants entering higher education in 2016.
A consultation period ran from 31 October 2011 until 20 January 2012 where we consulted widely across the education sector on the proposals.
During the consultation we also held a series of events- more information about the consultation events is available here.
We are now carefully analysing the responses to the consultation and a document outlining the findings and proposed next steps will be published in late March 2012.
The following documents provide evidence to the review:-
